Activity 1.1

Mark Making

A bit nervous getting underway with all my paintbrushes. I first started by selecting a range of my brushes and working only with Prussian Blue. I tried out each paintbrush making strokes, stippling and using the side of the brush. I haven't used a spray head brush before and really enjoyed stippling with this. Other brushes yielded very interesting marks

After trying out the brushes I put them all together to make as many different marks as possible on one page:

I then made various marks using odds and ends I found around the house. Lego was particularly appealing as was a rubber tyre from my son's collection:

I tried the exercise again using other found objects to make marks, mainly trailing things like seaweed and string. 

For the last piece in this activity I layered up colour and textures, although I'm not entirely certain if this was exactly what was wanted.
