Printed Lines (mod3: chpt4)

Introduction:

I've enjoyed the printing element of each module to date and this was no exception.  It's enjoyable to print in a rhythmic / repeating manner, but it can also be frustrating when planned patterns don't actually come together. Simplicity is all with this technique.

So I started with the usual collection of rubbers, lids of all kinds, sticks and store cards. I made myself ink pads and used acrylic inks. I printed on a variety of papers: layout paper,  printed paper and  some paper I painted earlier but not used up.

Printing the shapes

a] Circular

b] Square and rectangular

c] Triangular

Working on a white base:

I started working on a white base but mixed colours from the beginning:

Some ideas just didn't work

One of my favourites and really simple

Tree with golden fruit

This page of circle patterns was actually the first page I did and I felt it was possibly outside the remit of this chapter. However I think they are really good, and they look a bit like celtic shields! Endless possibilities...

Coloured Pages:

Printed base, resist printed stripes then stamped triangles

I really like this

Painted base, gold stamped squares, then over stamped in blue greeny shades - like mosaic

Although not particularly liking this piece, it has an almost wallpaper like feel to it
